What Makes An Outfit Good (Part 2)

No outfit is "bad" but some are more fun than others.

A year-ish ago, I wrote about what I think makes an outfit good. The topic, I think, lends itself better to video than just written text, so I wanted a re-do. Also, this is a whole new round of outfits!

The idea is this - take something that’s … an outfit … not great, not bad by any means, and see what small things can be tweaked to make it really GOOD. I tried, especially in the video, to break down my thought process when it comes to constructing an outfit. And, as I said at the start of the first version of this, this is all super personal! What makes something good to me might make it heinous to you. But hopefully talking through how I think about balance and proportion and small, easy swaps you can make will help you think about what you have in your closet, and new things you can do with them. (As always, if you just want to shop the edit, you can find that here!)

JEANS AND A SWEATER

Oh god if I had a dollar for every time I wore jeans and a sweater… I’d have a lot more sweaters. It’s the easiest combination for me to throw on in the mornings when it’s chilly, but it gets so old, so fast.

LEFT: Babaa cotton knit sweater, Wrangler jeans, Reebok x Anine Bing sneakers. RIGHT: I added… Comme Si shirt, Margaux flats, Rixo coat, similar belt here.
