How I Edit My Wardrobe Part II: How I Organize My Clothes

It makes getting dressed 100x easier.

Last week I showed you how I edit my closet - how I know what to get rid of, and my process for processing the entirety of my collection. This week, I’m going into how I put it all back, and the method I use for merchandising and organizing my wardrobe.

This is something I picked up when I worked in magazines, we’d use more or less this same technique to organize the racks of clothing when we’d have a stylist come in. This system allowed them to quickly find and grab the piece they needed - the look needs a boxy cropped and structured black tee shirt! Zip! Over to that section. Do we have colorful oversized blazer? Zing! Here it is!

There are a few things I use to organize - this rolling rack, these hangers, these hangers with clips, these clothing rack dividers, and then these thingies to separate my sweaters on the shelf (do not hang your sweaters, the shoulders will get all stretched out and ruined).

I hope this is helpful - let me know.
