Saturday Snack: a Solid Body Moisturizer, a New Brand Launch, a Perfect Cropped Jacket, Something Truly Silly, etc. etc. etc.

Little tidbits from around the internet.

Ok, I’m trying a video format here too… now that I’ve broken the seal I can’t stop!

KATE MCLEOD GROUNDING BODY STONE

I am eternally on a mission to keep my skin from drying out - especially living in LA where everything is bone dry. I started using the Kate McLeod pebbles in my shower last year (they’re little pebbles of solid body moisturizer you can rub all over your skin while you’re in the shower and they melt and help nourish your skin) and I love them. I recently started using the Body Stone too, and I love it so much. It’s a palm-sized solid body moisturizer, which comes in a bamboo box, wrapped in muslin - there’s zero plastic, and zero waste. I use it as a massage tool for my legs, arms, and stomach after an intense workout or after traveling to help relax and move ~fluid~ (barf) around. It’s a product I’ve loved and have used for a while, so I’m especially grateful to have the brand’s support for this newsletter. Lately I’ve been using the Grounding Stone, which smells really warm and earthy, but isn’t at all overpowering - and my skin has never been softer. Kate McLeod Grounding Stone, $45 (use code Laurel15 for 15% off)

THIS NEW SLOW FASHION BRAND

I can’t remember the last time I got excited about a denim brand - I have my favorites, and I think the category is pretty well covered. But this new one, called Rùadh (pronounced roo-ah evidently) is so perfect, so simple - I’m especially coveting the Quinn jeans. They’re an investment, but everything is made with Japanese denim, and finished by hand. These are jeans you’re meant to have for the rest of your life. Rùadh

A PERFECT CHEAP THRILL JACKET

Meanwhile, if you want something cute and fun and not insanely expensive - may I suggest this great cropped navy blazer, which would look terrific paired with those jeans. Mango, $60

THIS INSANE FEATHER BROOCH

Wear it on your jacket, in your hair, around your wrist, at the waist of your dress - this is exactly the kind of unbelievably silly and fun thing you buy and can count on to make any outfit special. I love it. Indress, $250

SOME NEW UNDERWEAR I’M ENJOYING

At this point, I’m more or less loyal to Negative Underwear. I just got a three pack of this style, and I am in love. They’re not granny panties, but they also don’t cut into you or feel like something you can’t wear every day. They let the sides of my buttcheeks hang out a little but somehow I never feel like I have a wedgie? They’re also very, very soft. Negative Underwear, $62/3 pairs

PERFECTLY 80S SECRETARY FLATS

I went to a Loro Piana thing this week to celebrate the opening of their new flagship in Beverly Hills (I got to be dressed by the brand for it, it was VERY dreamy for me and I made a little video about it which I’ll put in the chat) and I was just reminded of how absolutely perfect their Rebecca flat is. I have these in white, and when I wear them I feel like such a lady. No matter what else I’m wearing. They’re so soft on the inside, almost creamy, and they make everything look ten times nicer. If I had to have a show micro-collection of just 5 pairs, these would be in it. Loro Piana, $920

That’s it! Happy shopping!
