I totally relate to the need to have a device that tells perfect time at a glance and doesn't notify you of all the things. I feel like this is such an underrated feature set these days. For anyone else who feels that way but doesn't need all the data, I highly recommend a solar watch from Seiko or Citizen. They keep impeccable time and never need to be wound or get dead batteries.

I stopped wearing my apple watch but now I think I'll put it on and pretend it's a sparkly chic bangle because that's how you've made it now feel

I feel so seen (as always, you seem to read my mind with your posts). I have an Apple Watch and just can’t make it work with my clothes/style. It always looks wrong and I take it off right before leaving my house. I have a tiny leather wrap analog watch I adore from a small company called March Hare and I love it, but also the leather feels too... much?... sometimes. I don’t know I can’t decide. This comment is barely worth posting, it’s basically stream of consciousness at this point.

Couldn’t feel more seen here. I love analog watches. I feel tempted to buy a smart watch with functions, but have yet to pull the trigger because I cannot get over the rubber aesthetic. But these ladies do look cool 😎 so maybe it’s time.

Are Fitbits cooler bc they are actually a bit daggier than Apple Watches and therefore more I DONT CARE but also aesthetically pleasing in that they are just a black band as opposed to a big (hideous) screen. I've had/worn both. I wore the Fitbit v conspicuously with a floral Zimmerman dress out to lunch a couple of years ago. I love this post.

Yes yes. So seen by this. I like to track steps and workouts but I only wear mine to work because I feel like it doesn’t “go” with my weekend outfits and also I’m a watch-hating Pisces. I like to think of watches as bracelets that might tell time.

Thank you for this piece it was so helpful!

My Fitbit stopped working and after wearing my analog watch for a week I realized how much I love my fitbit for exactly all the reason you mentioned. I’ve been struggling with how it looks and if I should try something else etc. Thanks so much.
