Summer, baby! Here we go!
THIS HAND CREAM I USE ON MY FEET WHEN I CAN’T GET A PEDICURE
Since I added opening a store to my plate, I’ve had…no time for things like nails. My nails and toe nails are are bare, but I still like to have my feet scrubbed and scraped sometimes! It’s been a very long time, and I started using this retinol hand cream on my feet to get rid of the scratchies on my heels and calluses in desperation (normal hand cream doesn’t do it) and it’s actually working. I liked the original Theraplush cream, but the scent wasn’t my favorite. This one is great and very subtle. Soft Services Theraplush Hold, $62
THESE BIKES
My kids are both in bike camp right now, and these bikes are great. They start as balance bikes, then you easily pop on pedals when they’re ready to start really going for it. They’re nice and light, but not dinky. They’re designed to make it easy for kids to learn, and I think they really work. And! They’re on sale. Woom Bikes
VERY CUTE SUMMER KIDS STUFF ON SALE

I can’t resist buying my kids some new very cute things at the start of summer - and these are all on sale, so it takes a little bit of the sting off.
THESE NIPPLE COVERS
Ok, so I use these year-round, but especially in the summer - I love love love this kind of 90s style tank top and bra lines just really kill my vibe. I use these instead. It’s a very HOT look even if you have bigger boobs - no bra in a 90s tank. Maybe not for pickup but like, STILL! Let a mom live!!!!! If you are pretty flat, use these. If you have medium small boobs, use these, and then if you want a little bit of lift and support, try these. They also come in four skin tones, which is great.
THIS MOUSSE
OOOOOOH baby, if you have any curl or wave in your hair, try scrunching this in to wet hair and air-drying. YOU WILL NOT REGRET. I always hated the idea of mousse because I thought it would make my hair crispy, but this one does not! I love it so much. Crown Affair Air Dry Mousse, $38
THESE PAJAMAS
I’m not normally one for mommy & me, EXCEPT!!!! For pajamas. The joy it brings me to wear the same pajamas as my kids cannot be understated. I love this cherry set from SEA, I’d also wear the pants out in the world, but seeing my little five year-old daughter in these old-man jammies lights my whole heart on fire. Sea Mom jammies, $315 ; Sea kid jammies, $195
POLARIZED SUNGLASSES
We went camping last weekend (I am officially a camping person) and we were outside and on the beach and on the water the whole time with lots of light shining in my eyeballs, and I had polarized sunglasses on and holy shit the difference it made! I sometimes get a migraine if I get too strong of a glint off something in my eye, and now that I’ve tried polarized and glint-minimizing, I will never go back. I love these because they’re so classic, but also very very cool and chiiiiiic. Warby Parker, $95
SPEAKING OF CAMPING
One thing I cannot stand is having dusty feet. I HATE the feeling of dusty feet! I spent most of our camping trip in these clogs from Rothy’s and these Polo socks to keep the dust off my feet, but they were also so comfortable, great to slip on and off before going into the tent, they have support so I could go for a pseudo hike in them, they’re just great knockaround shoes for family stuff. Rothy’s clogs, $159 ; Polo socks, $30
THE CUTEST LITTLE GIRL SUMMER DRESS
The cutest. Ever. (I also love her little cherry red fingernails!) Doen, $138
THIS BEACH HAT
A few weeks ago I was in Santa Barbara and I got a hat very much like this at a little beach shack, and it is THE BEST. For walks, for the beach, or the pool, or whatever - the little string keeps it on my head, and it covers my face, chest, and shoulders. It is a very California Mom hat, but I am, in fact, a California Mom. Hemlock, $72
A GOOD BAG TO CARRY ALL YOUR SHIT AROUND
It looks nice, has a ton of room and isn’t heavy on its own - which makes it even better for schlepping. Madewell, $198
THERE WE ARE!
Your friend,
Laurel
Can you share a bit more about the Nood nipple covers? I'm looking for an alternative to sweating in my bras during the NYC summers but worry this would just be a different, sweaty beast.
Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but the Crown Affair mousse does make my hair crispy! I'm a huge fan of the R+Co air dry cream for an alternative. 10/10 and no crispies.
