What Makes An Outfit Bad - Here Are Some Of My Worst

Gotta kiss some proverbial frogs, I guess!

My dad visited me this past weekend, and he always likes to take my old electronics off my hand. He’s an engineering wizard and delights in refurbishing my old computers and phones - for what purpose, I do not know.

But part of the process of me handing them off, is first going through whatever files remain on them, and wiping them clean. This latest computer I gave him, from 2013 (!!!) was full of some real gems. Going through my old photos, there was obviously a lot of bittersweetness for my youth, but oh my fucking god, what was I thinking with my outfits. Personal style is an evolution and a process, and ask me in 2033 what I think of what I wore in 2023, and future me will probably ALSO be horrified/delighted. It’s not that I think I’m such hot shit now, but - if I can make this comparison - I studied Art History to learn about world history, and studying your own style and ways of dressing is a way to kind of revisit your own history. (There were also, I’m realizing, a lot of great looks - and one day I’ll do a post on those too, but for now I want to point your attention to this - my outfit for my first day on high school in Austin, TX)

It is fun to look back on those outfits and the styles of ye olden days and think about what was going on in my life then. The extent that happiness or satisfaction can be reflected externally… Anyway - here are some of my most loathsome outfits of the past, which at the time I thought were killer, and some made me feel awful.
