On Tuesday night I posted a picture of my kids taking a bath at my mom’s house with my mom watching them. One of my followers sent me this DM:
“When we watch our parents love our children it’s such a moment of clarity - love and gratitude. I remember watching my mom bake bread with my youngest when she was three and thinking she loves us like no other. It was a long time ago, but that memory sits in my heart forever and gives me the courage to mom on.”
And oh man, I honestly can’t even type that out without crying. My mom… oof… she’s kept us alive this year. She’s fed us almost every night, has kept me company, partied with me, indulged me when I wanted to make the world’s worst Baked Alaska. She’s my very best friend.
And now we’re leaving, and she’s not going to be down the street anymore, and it’s just so many feelings. There’s something miraculous about seeing the way your parents love your children. It’s like an out of body experience getting to watch them care for you from a time …
