The Best Basics I Bought This Year
(Some of them I got last year I just still love them so much)
For someone who writes about/thinks about/eats/breathes shopping, I don’t actually buy as much as you’d think I would. I do buy, but it’s not like week after week I’m getting more and more new stuff. I think I get a bit of a secondhand thrill by recommending so many things I love, that it scratches the itch of buying it myself, and lets me be a bit more judicious about what I do actually bring into my wardrobe.
That said, I’m not perfect. I did buy some things that were emotional (impulsive), or questionable (regrettable), and some that were well worth it, life-experience improving, all around great. These are those things - and they’re my basics. This might be redundant if you’re a devoted reader, but here we are. Pieces that I build the rest of my style around more than highly personal highly idiosyncratic super specific laurel things.
