Saturday Snack: Row Bags On Sale, Cobalt Nails, Old Lady Necklaces, and a Size-Inclusive Sequin Skirt
Interesting goodies I found while scrolling.
Here we go! Back into the swing of things! And noodling around on the internet.
Here’s a quick sweep of some things I really like:
ROW BAG ON MAJOR SALE
Ok, so bag may be a stretch. More like pouch. Still, I tried it on once at The Row store in LA, and it’s an excellent little side pouch, and can be worn through your belt loops as well. It’s also on sale in RED! But for slightly more. The Row, $356
SEQUIN WRAP SKIRT
I’ve always been a sequin gal, and more so now that it’s a new year and I’m tempted to try wearing all the silly things I have stored in my closet in new ways. I honestly have more than my fair share of sequin skirts, bu this one is tempting because it’s a) sheer, b) a wrap, and c) size-inclusive. At night I’d wear it with a blazer buttoned up to be a top, and during the day with a big oversized black button down, not tucked in, but mostly unbuttoned from the top down. Rixo (sizes US 2 - 22), $265
COBALT EVERYTHING
Yummiest color, anything in this hue lately catches my eye. My nails are cobalt, I just ordered new cobalt towels, and I’m eyeing this old Céline cobalt ponyhair tote. It looks especially good with the cherry red that’s, obviously, also everywhere. Lakur nail polish, $16 , Old Céline bag, $775
OLD LADY GOLD NECKLACE
In the beginning of last summer, I went to the jewelry show in Vegas - it’s called Couture - and I saw dozens and dozens of upcoming jewelry collections from dozens and dozens of designers. The thing that kept coming up was Retro-inspired kind of granny style jewelry. The sort of thing you wish your grandmother had. Most of the iterations are unbelievably expensive, but this collar from Dorsey is….not unaffordable. It’s 18k coated brass, so not solid gold, but it has the weight and finish of gold. A real winner. Dorsey, $570
A GRANNY STYLE GRADUATED PEARL NECKLACE
So pearls. The thing about pearls is, every couple of years THEY’RE BACK but ~they’re not your grandma’s pearls~. They’re punky, or mixed with chains, or otherwise somehow classic with a twist. Which is not my favorite. However! I recently saw a very beautiful, very very stylish daughter of the most A list of A list actresses wearing a delicate graduated pearl necklace, and it looked so fresh! I mean, this is truly literally actually your grandma’s pearls. So classic and old school, I’m very much into this look. I know boys have been wearing them recently, and now I want a strand of graduated pearls myself. This one pictured is by Mikimoto via The RealReal, but here’s a less expensive one from The RealReal, and a still less expensive version from Etsy.
TOTEME WINNERS ON SALE
I mean, right now basically everything seems to be on sale, and it’s very overwhelming. I try not to buy things on sale that I wouldn’t buy full price (assuming I can afford them at full price, my point is, I try not to think - this thing is so crazy, maybe I’ll wear it, and it’s on sale!) and both of these things I’ve seen other people wearing and have considered buying at full price. I love this crinkle dress - the straps are so dainty, the color is so pretty, and it just looks like the perfect thing to wear all summer. Meanwhile the pants! They look funny off a body, but on, they have a very interesting volume, and look great with something more fitted on top. They’re a classic, and so beautiful. Toteme dress, $358 (was $600) ; trousers, $228 (was $480)
RIBBON LACE UP RED FLATS
OOOO the sweetest red ballet flats with grosgrain ribbon ties! They’re done in washed canvas, and the grosgrain contrasts so nicely with it. AND you can wear them with or without the ribbons. I have a hard time wearing shoes I can’t just shove my foot into, and I like that these can go both ways. Alex Mill, $66 (was $165)
That’s it for now!
The Alex Mill shoes arrived yesterday and they are SO. GOOD. Thx!!
I love a good crinkle dress!!
