Saturday Snack - Little Silly Shopping Picks
A handful of things that don't fit into the regular letter
As I’m noodling around on the internet doing selects for the main Earl Earl, I often find little bits I love, but that don’t necessarily fit into the framework of what I’m writing about. So now, as often as I can (maybe even weekly) I’ll be sending these quickie notes with a handful of snacky little things I love.
1. Girlfriend Collective Mini Skirt
I love the idea of a mini skirt, but I find the whole thing a little daunting personally. I want one that’s solid and graphic, but not too stiff and school girl. I also like that this has little shorts underneath so that I don’t have to feel too self conscious about my movements all day. I’d probably wear this with a crisp black poplin button down or a tan one even. Also! This one is made of recycled materials and comes in sizes up to XXXL. A very horny little miniskirt. Girlfriend Collective, $60
2. Tory Burch Mules
I love Tory Burch, which I’ve said before, and I’m sure I’ll say again. These are so beautiful and nicely designed. Super interesting and special - I love the red footbed, that hue of red is just heaven. And! They’re under $400. Tory Burch mules, $378
3. Old Céline Gingham Tote
Man remember this? I still have such a soft spot for this collection and this bag in particular. It was the coolest thing I’d ever seen when it came out, and I’ve been thinking about this one on TheRealReal for forever. I really don’t need another giant tote bag, but it feels like the right moment to bring this bag/collection back out into the world again. Céline, $750
4. Jenni Kayne Sweatpants
I’m always looking for great sweatpants that are slim, but not fitted, and don’t have saggy booty. These have a really nice cut and while are obviously sweatpants, they look a little more thoughtful than most. If there’s such a thing as *fancy* sweatpants, these would be it. Also, lately all the ones I see look like they’re for Gen Z TikTok-ers, which I am not. Very slouchy and oversized. These are tidy and a little prissy. I definitely think they’d add to the quality of my life. Jenni Kayne, $175
5. Comme Si Socks
When I first started working in fashion, I was an accessories market editor at Glamour. My job was to find the best accessories, then when we were having a shoot, to request samples of the best things from all the various brands. And socks were a very consistent ask from stylists. I didn’t understand what made a good sock good, or even what to look for. But now I do, and these are so good. The perfect marl, the perfect weight and rib, they’re neither thin nor thick, just the perfect neutral sock that’s not meant to be invisible, and they’re CASHMERE. A true luxury. Comme Si, $80
6. Jil Sander Crinkle Trouser
There’s a pretty unbelievable cache of Jil Sander (my favorite brand) on The Outnet right now, but these crinkle drawstring trousers have especially caught my eye. I love them for summer with a baggy button down or fitted tank, but also in fall with a navy oversize knit. They’re perfect. Jil Sander, $347 (was $990)
7. Collina Strada Rhinestone Water Bottle
And finally, this insane water bottle. I, like you - probably - am trying to drink more water. I hate carrying around my hideous, heavy water bottle, but I think I would hate it a little less if it was silly and delightful….but still heavy. There are a few different styles of these, but I like the rainbow smileys the best. Collina Strada, $100
That’s all! <3
Laurel
Fuullllyyyy agree on Celine renaissance ✨ do you think it’s because it was peak Phoebe? And now she’s coming back...it’s like we’re nostalgic for that perfect collection because I’ve been toting my cabas about these last six months feeling the same!
love, love, love that Celine bag.
