I saw my first holiday commercial on TV last week and I have to say….I’m into it. I fucking love the holidays, but I am the world’s worst gift giver. I’m going to be sending out a series of gift guides over the next month and a half, and so just to tantalize you and get the gears moving, here are some ideas mixed in with a few other things I love this week.
COMFORT BOOKS
When I’m feeling weird, I like to go back and re-read some of my favorite books. These also make great gifts! Here are some I have in mind:
The Most Fun We Ever Had - This one follows a family with three daughters through their childhood into adulthood. It’s brilliantly written, really smart, un-putdownable without being gimmicky or gross. I like reading about this semi-disfunctional in a very normal way family, though the book does deal with infant loss, so some people may want to skip it.
