Mid-Week Snack: Skincare, Swimsuits, Sandals, & misc. Summer Stuff

I'm going on vacation soon, so this is what I'm thinking about.

I’m going on vacation next week, and I’m going to try and actually, you know…be on vacation. It’s been a while! And I have a lot going on! I haven’t packed yet, but I’m thinking about it. This weekend’s Saturday Snack is a sale roundup, so I’m sending this one early, and extra, because you might not hear from me next week.

THIS GEL MOISTURIZER

I’m actually planning on packing Herbivore’s Tremella Gel Cream on my trip, but I’ve been using this lightweight gel moisturizer for the last few weeks and it’s doing the thing for me big-time. LA weather is nice-ish year-round, but it definitely gets hot in West Hollywood now, and the feeling of thick moisturizer on my face at night is….yucky. This one is lightweight and silky, and has Tremella Mushroom, Vegan Silk, and Squalane to help moisturize and protect my skin’s barrier, without clogging my pores or feeling too heavy. I use so much sunscreen in the summer and wash my face so SO often, I can’t skip moisturizer, but I don’t want to feel it. This one has been working super well, and my cheeks look dewy, bouncy, hydrated and even. It also layers nicely with my SPF in the morning, and doesn’t cause any pilling or excess stickiness. In an effort to spare myself a little sunscreen on my bod - and also to give myself a tiny bit of extra sun protection, I’m bringing this very Bond Girl swimsuit from Left on Friday. It will make me look like I surf, but I won’t actually have to surf, because I don’t do that. Left on Friday, $220

THE FUCKING BEST SUMMER DRESS OF ALL TIME

This dress. Wow. This is the thing I want to wear every night all summer, and then again next summer - with sand on my feet, with heels on my feet, with boots on my feet, with flip flops on my feet. THIS LITTLE HAIR DOODLE

I was rooting around in one of my toiletry bags for something, when I came across this little rhinestone bobby pin. My hair was like, second-day-after-wash fuzzies, super fuzzy! and I had on a big cotton sweater, and denim shorts, and I popped this on the side of my hair, and…it felt so right! I’ve been wearing it a lot ever since. It’s hitting a nice note of sillyness for me this summer. Jennifer Behr, $158
