I’ve had one hell of a week. My daughter has been home sick for all of it, I’m having a trunkshow at the store (it’s still happening today, Oct 30! If you’re in LA come say hi! Earl@earlirl.com) and, of course, working and writing this newsletter, AND it’s my favorite holiday of the year this week. I love Halloween, and when I was younger I used to really get into my costumes. Lately I’m happy to just dress up as some version of a witch every year (last year I was a Rustic Canyon witch, which was very good). This year I’m doing a group costume with some mom friends, but my assistant (who is a youth) asked me if I had anything in my closet that she could use for a costume, and I was like….hmmm I don’t know, let’s go look.
Cut to fifteen minutes later when I’m flinging more and more things at her saying, THIS COULD BE A FEATHER DUSTER, THIS COULD BE A FLY…. My daughter likes to play dress up with me, so tonight I wanted to try on some costume ideas. She was enthralled, so she joined in on the process. Here, some of the things I put together using some of my favorite treasures, with my costume idea vs what she thought I was dressed as.
