We moved out of our old house in Brentwood this week, which was sad, but is also exciting for reasons I won’t get into, but it was a BIG WEEK. And on the same day as the move, I started to feel pretty run down, and by 5 PM I was shivering in bed with a 102 degree fever. I got….THE FLU! But just because I got the flu and my kids did not (they weren’t exactly healthy either - my son has a different virus) did not mean I could stop parenting. This is something I’m sure you’re all familiar with - there was an old DayQuil commercial about a dad walking in to his son’s nursery to ask for a sick day and like LOL SUCKER you’ve still got to wipe another person’s ass today. Sometimes I fantasize about getting the flu, or a serious cold, so that I can completely remove myself from the equation, but then when it happens I’m reminded that no. That’s not what happens.
