There’s this episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm where Larry gets roasted for having crunchy, shitty towels.
I’ll never forget it. I, too, have been guilty of having crunchy, shitty towels, however - I do not stand by them. I want soft towels!
When I visit my mom (who is fancy, and is a regular contributor on Earl Earl, primarily because she represents everything peaceful and considered in a domestic realm that I do not - her bed is unbelievably soft, her house is organized, she knows just what to get for every occasion…. she’s truly, very fancy) her towels, of course, are soft. Then she explained to me how she got them so soft, and what she does to maintain softness, and while I, a mother of two children aged 4 & 6 cannot keep up with this every step of this routine, I thought it was fascinating and it does work. When my mom wants to learn how to do a thing, she researches the hell out of it - and here’s what she found.
