Before I get into it, a little store news! I’m hosting Nina Runsdorf (one of my favorite fine jewelers) & Henri cashmere at the store for two days this week - Dec 2nd and 3rd, and then having a little cocktail party for her on Dec 3 at 5:30. I would LOVE to see you there! No appointments needed, just come on by.

I also am starting to get lots of great gifting goodies in the shop - Celisse nail kits, Presley Oldham jewelry, bags by Esha Soni, Comme Si socks, and on and on, so if you’re in LA this week, come see me. I’m closed on Friday, but here the rest of the week!

Also, I’m going to start using Substack for all official store communication. I’ll be sending updates about trunkshows, what’s new in store, etc. through this channel, so if you’d like to get those updates please go to this link and toggle on the EARL IRL button under notifications. Ok! On to Fancy Mom.

Last year, my Fancy Mom’s gift guide was one of the absolute highlights of the entire year. And like last year, I’m going to be breaking up her missives into a few chunks by category. (Here’s last year’s part 1 and part 2) My mother has flawless taste, but she also has everything she wants. She’s not impressed by price, she’s impressed by usefulness and thoughtfulness and by beautiful design. And so, without further ado, here are her first round of selects for indulgent and cozy gifts. Here she is:

I don’t know what it is exactly, but this year I feel like I should be a bit more careful about my spending and really love the things I buy. We all have so much stuff. I feel like the new things we add to our loved ones’ collections should be useful. They should be delightful. They should last a long time. The things that follow here check those boxes for me.
