COOKING WITH MY FANCY MOM + Her Entertaining Tips & Tricks

You're going to need a lot of milk.

Hi guys, I’m in Austin, with my Fancy Mom, live and in person. She’s been cooking up a storm in her insanely beautiful home and kitchen (here’s more about her kitchen, featuring Fern Santini, the designer she collaborated with on it/her very good pal/one of the chicest women I’ve ever met), and tonight she wanted to show me how to make Popovers. I really do not cook, so, I wasn’t much help, and in the end I didn’t do the best job at documenting the recipe or the cooking experience, but we had a lot of fun, and honestly, that’s the whole point I think.

She also wrote up a bunch of great entertaining tips, as I imagine more than a few of you have either been hosting or will soon be hosting for the remainder of the holidays. So here are her tips, plus the Popover recipe, plus some little fun doodads and things for the home + for your wardrobe, inspired by my very own fancy mom.

And if you’re not familiar with her yet, get up to speed here.

I have learned some things in the past year about entertaining friends and family. Since we’re expecting a BOUNTY of family this holiday season, I’ve been working on making it easy, fun and memorable for everyone without overdoing it or stressing about it. Or worse, stressing THEM out about it. I’m sharing some of the things I’ve learned and am planning to try this year.
