Saturday Snack: My Favorites from The RealReal, A Great Leopard Blazer, Navy Leather Pants, Great Jackets, etc etc.
Little tidbits from around the internet.
PICKS FROM THE REALREAL
With all the writing I do about closet editing (I LOVE A PURGE!) and shopping for weird things, I am very happy to have support from The RealReal on this letter. It's also ~Consignment Month~ which means you can earn up to an extra $450 when you consign this month, and even higher for first time consignors. Whenever I do an edit, I schedule a RealReal pickup for the same day so I can just get the whole shebang over in one day. There are few things I love more than making more space in my closet and sending some of my beloved pieces back out into the universe to be loved by someone else. Anyway, here are some of the resale pieces in my Obsessions folder now.
THE JACKETS
It’s jackety time! It was cooler in Paris than I expected, and was so fun to get to wear layers again. Got me in the mood to buy jackets.
LEFT: This is a little shirt/jacket from Kallmeyer. It goes along with what I wrote about this week - styling ideas I’m excited to try. I love this shape where it’s nipped in at the waist, but in a very gentle, curving way. It’s great as a top, and as a layering piece. A dream. Kallmeyer, $695
CENTER: A true dream piece - this is made from woven leather, and it’s under $1k. So special. Cos, $790
RIGHT: I also put this jacket in my edit this week, but I saw it in Paris, and it’s so sharp, so good, and the leopard is kind of abstract, so it makes it a bit easier to wear. I like the idea of a heavier blazer as a jacket in early fall, and this is a great one. Zadig & Voltaire, $648
KITCHEN SCISSORS
This is kind of random for Earl Earl, and I don’t cook, but I recently got these kitchen shears, and they have made my life so much better. I use them to cut up pizza for my kids, chop veggies, cut herbs (lol JK I don’t fuck around with herbs) - it’s so much easier than a knife! I love them. Material Good, $35
THE RIDING BOOTS I COVET
Another thing I liked from the spring shows….I’m looking at riding boots again. I have a great pair from Phoebe Philo’s Céline, but I also really love these Loewe boots. They have a beautiful round toe, and are super soft - great for under more feminine dresses and the big circle skirts I love. Loewe, $2,300
THE SOFTEST FAUX LEATHER PANTS
I felt these in Paris (also, sorry I keep being like, ooo, in PArIs! I was in pAAAriSSS! but…I was in Paris) and they feel just like real leather, are super soft, and are the nicest shade of dark navy. They’re under $400 so you can really live in them. Essential Antwerp, $300
PERFECT SUNGLASSES
There’s pretty much only one shape/style of sunglasses I ever wear (these by Celine, I’ve been loyal to them for seven years) but these little delicate cat eyes from Khaite x Oliver Peoples really have me tempted. I like everything about them - they’d be a fun little update for me. Khaite x Oliver Peoples, $525
CUTE POLO POPOVERS
As much as I might want to quit the little polo neck popover thing (I’m honestly kind of sick of it) I still like them and can’t actually stop. I’m the same way with meringues.
LEFT: This one is fleece, like a sweatshirt, and it also comes in white and black. I love it. Polo, $168
MIDDLE: A knit! Here I like the combination of the grey/blue with brown and a white accent collar. Very weird and fun, but not too weird. Dunst, $150
RIGHT: And finally, something very easy to throw on and wear everywhere - this cornflower color is super pretty and would look great with indigo denim and little retro sneakers, or a little leather pencil skirt and loafers. Alex Mill, $295
That’s all for today!
Your friend, forever,
Laurel
